The Prepared Parent Childbirth Class
At First Coast Doulas we know that parents want a satisfying birth experience and that will mean different things to different people! This is an opportunity to approach birth, parenting and your own intimate relationship with confidence. Be in the know, discover what a “satisfying” birth means to you, and have the tools you need to get there!
In the Prepared Parent Childbirth Class we use current childbirth education research and proven communication styles so you will learn as much as possible in a way that is best for you! We’re teaching you what noone else is telling you! Learn about what’s happening within the body, why it’s happening, and how to navigate all of it.
“My wife wanted a natural childbirth. I thought the idea was crazy, but our friend who is a labor and delivery nurse recommended this class to us so we took it. We learned way more than we thought we would. When she went in to deliver our son we knew some of the things to expect and felt more prepared. We did as we practiced in class and we “labored down”, arriving at 7 centimeters to the hospital. Nothing can ever “prepare” you to have your lives changed forever, but I understood why my wife wanted a natural birth and felt more connected after the class.”
Comfort Measures in Childbirth Class
Giving birth is hard work, but there is no reason you should have to suffer through it! First Coast Doulas teaches you and your partner (if you have one) techniques to be more comfortable in during childbirth. Planning for an all natural birth? Perfect, this class is for you! Planning for an epidural at some point in labor? Awesome, this class is for you too! Every mother, every family, and every birth matters!
“The class was packed with great tips. My husband took notes and we practiced the techniques. When I went into labor we didn’t panick. We practiced the techniques several times after class. I was pleasently surprised with my husband’s response to my needs in labor and I think this class helped so much.”
Cesarean Birth Prep Class
Cesarean birth presents with it’s own set of challenges. This unique childbirth education class is designed specifically for couples who are preparing to welcome their babies into the world via a cesarean birth experience. In the Cesarean Birth Prep Class we talk candidly about our bodies, birth, and recovery. We discover the joys, challenges, and common concerns. We go over the birth process from beginning to end.
“We already knew we were having a schedule cesarean section. I didn’t need to learn about breathing techniques or positions for pushing. What I needed was someone other than our doctor to teach me what to expect and what my options were. This class did just that!” ~Diana & Paul C.
“The cesarean birth prep class was great. Elizabeth worked with my husband’s crazy schedule and came to us on a day that worked for him. She was really knowledgable and you can tell she cares. We delivered at Baptist Downtown and had fantastic experience. We hired her for some help at home after we delivered. This class helped me feel more calm and happy about my choice. Elizabeth helped me so much after I gave birth. I highly recommed it and her to anyone thinking about having a c-section..”~Kayla Hill
Oh Brother Sibling Class
Welcoming a baby brother or sister is exciting! It’s also all the other things for an older sibling! In our informational and hands on class children ages 6-10 years old will learn about what to expect during the first 2-6 weeks. They will discover ways to be helpful and express their own feelings. They will also learn about the looks, sounds, and smells that come along with having a new sibling.
“My daughter loved the class. I was surprised she remembered so much. I overheard her teaching her cousin tips for safe sleep. Liz was thoughtful in her approach and I have already recommended the class to two of my co-workers.”
